One of the hardest parts about shadow work is realizing that sometimes the thing standing in our way isn’t another person.

It’s US.

Not because we’re broken, but because we’ve gotten comfortable repeating patterns that no longer serve us.

There comes a point where we stop asking, “Why does this keep happening to me?” and start asking, “What keeps bringing me back here?”

That’s where everything begins to change.

Set the Tone: Read Your Innergy First. 👁

Take a moment to ground yourself.

If you work with oracle or tarot cards, now is the time to grab your favorite deck.

Take a few deep breaths.

Then ask:

“What truth am I ready to hear today?”

or

“What part of me is asking for my attention?”

Shuffle or Pull ONE Card.

Don’t rush to interpret it.

Just let it sit beside you as you move through today’s track.

Notice what stands out.

Notice what repeats.

Notice what lands differently by the time you reach the end.

Trust yourself first.

Your cards aren’t here to tell you who you are, they’re here to help you remember.

Okay, I know; a white band for my first track?! Yes, hear me out. 😆

Like many of us, a lot of my shadow side is my inner child/teen and she LOVES Paramore. I am currently reviving her frequency as I listen to the full “Riot” album and type this entry.

As a Black Emo Teenager, I always used to sing this song to myself, as if I was singing to someone who pissed me off or hurt my feelings; usually a parent or one of them “little boyfriends’" lol. Today, I listen and I hear Judiee (my innerteen) screaming at me…

“and convinced yourself that it’s not the reason you don’t see the sun anymore.” Then, “You always find an escape…just running away from all the ones who love you.” Lastly, “Take your time.”

She sees and feels the things I am not saying.

She loves me enough to tell me the truth even when it stings.

She gives me grace as heal through this.

Deep right? I mean we are in Deep Cuts. In music, Deep Cuts are the songs true fans know. They're not the radio hits. They're the honest ones. The vulnerable ones. The ones that reveal the artist. In the Studiio, Deep Cuts are where the masks come off and the truth gets a microphone.

Alright, back to The Track.

I am listening and while Judiee is giving me grace, she is also screaming at me because she knows I can be handling a certain situation better. It’s not just Judiee, it’s Babygirl, Trina, Big Mama; ALL OF PARIS but Judiee is the one with no filter, so she’s getting on my ass right now. 😆

Only because we see the recurring patterns.

My body sends consistent signals that shit is not aligned.

Yet, I deal with it and move through life like nothing is happening.

This disappoints and confuses us because we’ve grown sooooo much and even though, I know it’s Mercury Retrograde but it feels like we’re back sliding because…

So, what the fuck is going on?!

“Why am I so settled and “content” in this uncomfortable situation?”

This moment is when I knew I need to go in the Shadow Work Room…but Bitch, I am avoiding that room like the motherfuckin’ plague right now. Not because I don’t know that I need to face it but honestly, because I know facing this shit is going to change the trajectory of my entire life.

“and I am really ready for that?”

Well, I’ve done enough work to know that no one else can answer this question for me. So this week, I open the door and figure it out…
