When Boundaries Become Visible...

A Note on Healing, Privacy, and Protecting your Peace.

There’s a version of healing that people are comfortable witnessing.

The quiet kind.

The aesthetic kind.

The kind that looks soft, controlled and easy to digest.

Then, there’s the real kind.

The kind where you have to enforce boundaries with people who are used to having access to you.

The kind where silence is no longer protection…it becomes self-abandonment.

The kind where choosing yourself doesn’t look graceful to everyone watching.

This week IN REAL LIFE, I had to remind people…publicly…that I am no longer available for certain dynamics.

Not out of anger, not out of spite.

Out of clarity FOR THE ENTIRE SMEAR CAMPAIGN AT ONE TIME BECAUSE I AM DONE!!!

I AM DONE SHUTTING UP FOR OTHER PEOPLE’S COMFORT.

I AM DONE GIVING GRACE WHERE IT IS NOT DUE.

I AM DONE ACTING LIKE I AM NOT THE ONE MAKING ALL THIS SHIT SHAKE.

Healing will ask you to do things that don’t always look “healed” to others, especially when you come from environments where your boundaries were never respected to begin with.

Also, when people are used to a version of you that tolerated more than you should have.

So when you change, when you become more aware, when you start protecting your peace…

It can feel like disruption to people who benefited from your silence but disruption is NOT dysfunction.

Sometimes, it’s alignment.

I am not interested in performing healing.

I am committed to practicing it and a lot of times that practice looks like distance.

Sometimes it looks like silence.

And other times…it looks like being very clear about what is no longer welcome in my life.

Nevertheless, this week is still Therapy Week; God just had some extra messages for us. Lmao.

She said, remember “Sometimes, Crashing Out IS a form of therapy as well, especially if you are a former people pleaser.”
